Music Conference Helps Boost Retail Sales

PRLog (Press Release) – Oct 07, 2009 – Birmingham City Centre shops and retailers are looking forward to increase foot traffic caused by the Urban Fashion and Music Conference due to take place in Birmingham England in 2010.

Quiz Media, organizer of the Urban Fashion and Music conference (UFM Conference) have announced that they will be bring the event to Birmingham, England. The three-day Fashion and Music event will take place in July of 2010.  The date and location have not been announced yet.  

After 3 months of consideration Birmingham has won out over Houston, Jamaica, New York City and London.  The decision to bring the conference to the UK was quite surprising. Fashion and Music professionals were even more shocked to find out that Birmingham won out over London.

CoatesTwice releases ‘Supernova’ debut album

PRLog (Press Release) – Oct 06, 2009 – TORONTO (October 6) -- The long-awaited debut album by Chris Coates and Think Twice has been released on indie label Sunglasses Music.

The 10-track album is the result of a 2-year collaboration between Think Twice and Chris Coates (aka Puffy Coates, Chris Quotes) that began when they were fixtures of the hip-hop scene in Montreal with such groups as Specifics, Typecast, and The Bank of Mount Real.

Producer Phil Kennedy (Think Twice), now based in Vancouver, has racked up sales of 50,000 units worldwide during the past five years. This is the first full-length CoatesTwice collaboration. Chris Coates’s songs have been featured on three previous releases produced by Think Twice.

“Supernova” advances their earlier hip-hop style through the post-bling club pulse of “Where’s the Cash At?” “Just The Tip,” “WeeOooh,” and “Tips of My Toes,” through the jazzy stylings of the title track, “Heat,” “Money in the Rhyme Book,” “The Only Hot Thing,” and “Fresh,” featuring Specifics. The album ends with four minutes of startling social commentary on “The Accomplice.”  

Chris Coates has assembled a band to tour the album featuring DJ Dave Sauce and Eloquent of Stolen Owners. Think Twice and Coates are also currently working on their follow-up project, with an anticipated release in 2010.
